SFL Skills Award event
Apprentices are encouraged and motivated to do the best in everything that they do. They are involved in a range of activities to the benefit of their development. We like to recognise their achievements by nominating them for a range of awards presented at our Annual Skills Award event such as the Guild Trophy for the Engineering Apprentice of the Year.
National Skills Academy for Nuclear
In 2008 Springfields were certified as an Associate Member of the National Skills Academy for Nuclear(NSAN), further they were named as an NSAN - Assured Provider for engineering training. The recognition ensures Springfields is an integral part of a quality assured network of organisations providing training
RoSPA Safety Awards
Everyone at Springfields is committed to safety, it is our number one priority. Since 2001 Springfields H&S performance has been recognised by the receiving of a major award in the annual Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents H&S Awards. In 2008 Springfields were named as the overall winner In the Manufacturing Industry Sector.
Apprentice Safety – 10 Yrs Without a Lost Time Accident (LTA)
On 2 December 2008 Apprentice Training were recognised for a major safety milestone – 10 Years without a Lost Time Accident. Apprentices and members of Skills Development marked the day by holding a number of safety related activities - reviewing their safety performance, discussing external accidents to young people, touring main workshops (scene of the last LTA) and small group work considered the main risks to young people in and out of work.
Rogan Safety Award 2008
The Rogan Safety Trophy for 2008 was won by the apprentices for their development of a series of informative cards, covering all aspects of safety, which make up a permanent folder throughout an apprenticeship.
